CLARE DALTON

About
I am an Edmontonian artist currently employed by the Antarctic Institute of Canada. I design and illustrate book covers, as well as format them for publication and print. I have illustrated two graphic novels. I love character design, comics, and illustration, and one day hope to write and illustrate my own original comic series.
ILLUSTRATION
The majority of my art is about designing unique characters and illustrating fantastical scenes. I am inspired by both classic sword and sorcery comics and novels, as well as more modern takes on the genre. Since childhood I have been captivated by witches and fairies, unicorns and dragons, and anything related to fantasy or science fiction; with my current love being the tabletop role-playing game: Dungeons and Dragons.
BOOK COVERS, GRAPHIC NOVELS, CHILDREN'S BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS
I have designed and illustrated the covers of several published books for the non-profit organization The Antarctic Institute of Canada, as well as adapted two books into full length graphic novels. I have also illustrated two children's books, including a recipe book.
